Read on for my Breath of the Wild Amiibo Guide, and a list of the various items obtained from each amiibo.
What is an Amiibo?
An Amiibo is a collectible figure with a built in NFC chip which can be scanned by Nintendo’s various game consoles. Depending on the game in question, scanning the figurine results in unlocking rewards, such as new items, levels, or new characters.
In the case of Breath of the Wild, scanning an amiibo results in an assortment of items falling in front of Link, along with a treasure chest.
Here’s What you Can Unlock
Overall, any amiibo will work on BOTW, but they won’t unlock as many items as the Zelda-themed ones.
Below, in no particular order, is a list of the various amiibos that are compatible with Breath of the Wild, along with a list of rare items from the chests that you get. These are randomly generated. If you are lucky, you may get a rare item from a past Zelda game!
This amiibo spawns a chest with some wooden barrels, that contain rupees, and the chest may come with swords, shields, arrows, or the rare items above.
The chest spawns with fish, and may also contain a random sword or set of arrows. This amiibo is more or less the same as Wind Waker Link, aside from a different set of swords that spawn.
Other than the rare sword above, the chest may contain rare monster parts, gems, or swords. Be careful; explosive barrels might spawn along with the chest!
The chest will contain either a piece of Guardian gear, Ancient Cores, Ancient Arrows, or rusty weapons. Otherwise, it also comes with ancient materials and gems.
Perhaps one of the more unique amiibo, this one does not give out items, but instead summons Wolf Link from Twilight Princess! He follows you around, helping you out in combat and also with searching for items.
