Where to buy Diablo 1?

Trying to find out where to buy Diablo 1? I’ve got you covered! Read on for a few places where you may be able to find Blizzard’s classic game. It’s rare, but you might get lucky enough to find it.

Why is it hard to find?

Diablo is one of the oldest PC games that I own, along with gems like Warcraft II and SimCity (the original one, not that newer one from EA!) It came out when I was 7 years old, and as much as I wince at the thought of kids playing mature rated games, I’m a hypocrite, for I have played a mature rated game as a kid. This one, to be precise, in case the message wasn’t clear 😛

I’ve been lucky to have held onto my old copy of Diablo 1.

Anyways, to answer the question posed in my big black header: the game is about 20 years old now. This game came out long before the likes of Windows XP and 2000. You would have to own a dinosaur PC just to play the game, or at least have intermediate working knowledge of the Windows Operating System to get it working on newer machines without any technical glitches.

There hasn’t been any news as to whether or not Blizzard has plans on bringing support to this one, as they had done with Starcraft. I doubt that they have plans on introducing such an update, especially with Diablo III still being very popular and relevant.

At this point, having a physical copy of Diablo is very much akin to owning a collector’s item. They are in limited quantities.

Where can it be found without looking around flea markets? Amazon is one of the places I have found that has copies available.

Another place you can try is eBay. Many people may be willing to part with their copy of the game, but the rarity of the game makes it hard to gauge the price, so you may have to do some digging around for the best price.

Do you own your old copy? Do you still play it every so often? Feel free to give me a shout down below!
