Nintendo Switch Boxing Day Deals 2021
Boxing Day has arrived here in Canada. Much like Black Friday, it is a day where stores, retailers, and malls put up sales and discounts on lots of products. A long time ago, Boxing Day used to be a humble holiday in which charitable people would give gifts to the poor. Nowadays, it is a “shopper’s holiday” where people seek out the last few deals that tend to remain after the Christmas shopping season.
Now, I don’t know about you, but seeing as we are in the middle of a pandemic, I don’t like the idea of going out into a public mall on a shopping day, especially with the rising cases where I live. Besides, it is a lot easier to just go online and shop from home. It saves time, gas money, and in most cases, may cost a lot less in general.
As with any online shopping I do, I always seek out Amazon for the best deals, and so for this post, I’m going to cover some Nintendo Switch Boxing Day Deals that I’ve found. Just a head’s up that the prices were accurate as of writing, so make sure to check out Amazon directly.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This was the first Nintendo Switch game I ever played, and I wholeheartedly recommend you try this if you haven’t already. Unlike past Zelda games, this one puts you into a massive open-world filled with things to discover.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

This game is an excellent way to scratch that creative itch. You can share your creations online with others, and try to beat other player-made levels. As with anything that needs an internet connection, you will need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to get full access to the game’s features.

This game could not have been released at a better time. While The Covid-19 pandemic may have forced us to stay home and put a hold on our vacations, this game lets us live a dream vacation on an island resort. Pikmin 3 Deluxe

Another “Deluxe” game that originally came out on the Wii U, Pikmin 3 Deluxe comes with all of the DLC included, along with extra side missions starring Olimar and Louie, two reoccurring characters in the Pikmin series. Pikmin is a Real Time Strategy game that is based around an alien astronaut that commands an army of plant people on a mysterious planet.

Luigi’s Mansion 3

If there’s something strange haunting your house, who’re you gonna call? Not the Ghostbusters! Once again, Luigi has to go into a haunted place, bust some ghosts, and save his friends. Only this time around, he has a helper in the form of a blobby pile of goo shaped like himself.

Skyward Sword was a game that I missed out on the Wii, so it is really nice to have the chance to play this game. The Switch version does a good job of making the motion controls work nicely with the Joy-Cons, but also introduces a more traditional control scheme so that players can play the game in handheld mode (or on the Switch Lite). This game also comes with many quality-of-life changes to improve the gameplay when compared to the original Wii version.

This game is pretty much recommended if you are a big fan of hack-and-slash games. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is also the only way to firsthand see what happened 100 years ago. You can play as Link, as well as Zelda and the four Champions, learning about their individual fighting styles and abilities.
