Why should you play on console?

Take one search on the internet, and you’ll find loads of arguments and discussions over which platform is the best to play. You’ll no doubt find that there are loads of PC gamers that argue that personal computers are far more superior.

They’re not wrong. Desktop computers these days have massive processing power and can be upgraded with the latest in hardware to keep up with the times. Consoles on the other hand, do not have the freedom to have their innards upgraded.

I’ve always liked to compare PCs and consoles to bikes. It’s an easy analogy. PCs are like your high end sports bikes; powerful, but lots of work goes into maintaining them. Consoles are your standard bicycles; not as powerful as a sports bike, but they still get you from point A to point B, and they are easy to pick up and use.

You buy a console. You put the game disc/cartridge into the console. And you start playing. Easy as pie.

That accessibility is what makes consoles so great to use! For those who don’t need to tinker with their rides, bikes are great to use. Sure, you do have your group of enthusiasts who insist that their way is the best, but then, so does everyone else.

What about Console A versus Console B?

One can’t just ignore the good ol’ console wars 😛

Take the PC group out of the question, and you have Sony and Microsoft fans! This has been a long discussion ever since the Xbox joined the lineup of console games.

The PlayStation and Xbox consoles are really massive beasts on their own. They have their own lineup of exclusive games, which can make selecting the right console that much harder. Of course, you could just buy both, but that can get a bit pricey.

When I was growing up, I was the one in my group of friends with the Nintendo. Everyone else was getting either the Xbox or the PS2. I was definitely the black sheep of the bunch. You might even know a friend like that.

In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. If you like what Sony offers for games, I say go for it! If Halo is your thing, then all the power to you!
